Re: Merthyr Town v AFC Porth
In view of the fact that there are five home friendly games in a fortnight, it has been decided that £3 will be a standard charge for all (except children) for the game against AFC Porth.
Re: Merthyr Town v AFC Porth
An 8-page match programme will be available - price just 50p.
It will include Secretary's notes and a history of the visitors.
As usual, copies of the programme can also be supplied by post on application to John Strand: strand@salisburyclose.fsnet.co.uk

Re: Merthyr Town v AFC Porth
A 'tidy' run out ...four goals without reply...the pick of the bunch the Kerry Morgan volley....Porth were a plucky little side who until the first goal kept out a lacklustre Town...as usual the last 20 minutes superior fitness told and the magnificent seven substitutes from Merthyr gunned down the opposition liked Yul Brynner in Westworld....good to see the players warming down and once again another clean albeit a lower league team....onwards and upwards to Saturdays early kick off of 1pm....Boz

Big shout out to Andrew Thomas and the lad from Monmouth, Daniel McDonald, both played really well I thought. Also Jamie Rewbury, he also had a great game

Agree with you Jak, Tubbs & Rewbs played well in the centre during the first half, although Jarred also looked solid when he came on at half time. Dan McDonald (who by the way looks shorter than Kerry!) had a good game in the hour he played, capped by a very well taken goal right on the stroke of half time. Was also impressed by the No 3 (Gavin ?) during the first half, especially when he was going forward.
Overall, a good solid display by all the 37? (at least!) Merthyr players who took part. Plenty for SJ to think about before the season starts.

No.3 was Gavin Warlow, he impressed me on certain things but some things weren't so impressive. I bet SJ has a headache with the players he has in his hands.

With the players budget available, it is obvious that the number of players we have seen so far at training and in friendlies will have to be whittled down.

Yeah I would imagine we will have a squad of 18-20 players come the Wimborne game

Re: Merthyr Town v AFC Porth
Picking a keeper maybe a problem as neither keeper is getting much action due to the opposition they are facing, although that could change on Saturday against Port Talbot.

I believe this was Owain not Gavin Warlow, Formerly with Lincoln and Llanelli, can play anywhere on the Left side.

Does anybody know what the attendance was on Tuesday? The 50/50 was £62.50, so it was probably a decent crowd for a midweek friendly.
