A programme will be available for the match, with a reduced number of pages and no doubt a reduced price, including:
*Secretary's Notes
* History of AFC Porth
* Pen pics of Porth's players

This sounds like lunacy to me with all our injuries and what if we pick up more in a "nothing"game.

On the other hand it's probably helpful to get a game in on the new pitch and under the new floodlights.
Also, it could be best to get any 'teething troubles' with these (if there should be any - I'm only speculating) out of the way now rather than when we play a proper match.

I know all about your points and respect your opinion,I have not been to the last few games but it seems to me...1Players loaned out and not available..2Key players injured and youth players on the bench3Starting to lose important games that could produce revenue and affect our gates when we do get back.4The way we are going will not be able to field a fit/competitive team before long...ACTION MUST BE TAKEN AS SOME OF OUR KEY INJURIES ARE LONG TERM AND WE COULD LOSE AN AWFUL LOT OF MONEY?INTEREST IN THE TEAM DWINDLING?CROWDS LOW ETC IF THERE IS NO ACTION......CAN WE BRING SOME LOAN PLAYERS IN.CAN WE BRING SOME LOAN PLAYERS BACK..ETC I OBVIOUSLY DON'T KNOW HOW OUR FINANCES ARE.But this is my gut feeling Merthyr fans support can be fickle and will fall off new pitch or not...

Maybe some of the players released due to lack of experience would be willing to negotiate a mutually beneficial deal that would give them more experience, and potentially strengthen the team?Royston Rogers wrote: I know all about your points and respect your opinion,I have not been to the last few games but it seems to me...1Players loaned out and not available..2Key players injured and youth players on the bench3Starting to lose important games that could produce revenue and affect our gates when we do get back.4The way we are going will not be able to field a fit/competitive team before long...ACTION MUST BE TAKEN AS SOME OF OUR KEY INJURIES ARE LONG TERM AND WE COULD LOSE AN AWFUL LOT OF MONEY?INTEREST IN THE TEAM DWINDLING?CROWDS LOW ETC IF THERE IS NO ACTION......CAN WE BRING SOME LOAN PLAYERS IN.CAN WE BRING SOME LOAN PLAYERS BACK..ETC I OBVIOUSLY DON'T KNOW HOW OUR FINANCES ARE.But this is my gut feeling Merthyr fans support can be fickle and will fall off new pitch or not...

From Garry Shephard:
“We are actively looking to strengthen our squad and the team. Our aim is to bring in fresh players and if we do that then others may leave.
“We told the players that after the Paulton game, and Danny and I want a reaction in training and matches over the next couple of weeks"

I've got every respect for Sheppy and Danny and if that is the case great,its the injuries I feel are going to HIJACK our season otherwise,

Yes, obviously if new players are brought in, some will have to depart. Unfortunately, you can't factor in injuries because you don't know what the situation will be and you can't have too many players if a club cannot afford them. And too big a squad means that on some occasions, some players are not even in the 16-man squad.

Yes Tim we know no-one can see into the future the point I am trying to make is something has to be done or else our season will slide downhill and you know the Merthyr casual supporters will then fall off as well as I do.

Re: MERTHYR v. A.F.C. Porth
well it could and did happen just like R.R. feared,we had stevie go off early in the game also rewbs looked if he picked up a knock.The way some of the tackles were flying in it could have been far worse.But to the game we had a fairly strong team out started brightly but faded badly and second half apart from when Traylor came on we were poor,scouser must have wondered why he was released when he seen the quality of our subs.if they were from our youth teams then fair enough.When you look back at the game if Porths forwards had taken the chances offered to them they could have been four up in the first half.Thought the pitch played well and both teams coped really,apart from a couple misplaced passes.
