Cortez BelleCORTEZ Belle has committed himself to a new 18-month contract with Port Talbot Town.
And manager Mark Jones has hailed the deal as "the biggest signing of the transfer window".
The 28-year-old made something of a comeback with the Steelmen this summer after his career had stalled and has been a revelation at the GenQuip stadium, according to the club's official website.
After scoring 44 goals in two seasons for Merthyr Tydfil, Belle joined Chester City but was allowed to go to Newport County on loan in March 2005.
The move was made permanent and Belle remained at Spytty Park until a move to Llanelli, despite being fined and transfer-listed by the board in September.
Although he joined the Reds as a striker he was latterly deployed as a centre-back, after joining Halifax Town and later moving to Northwich Victoria and Chippenham Town.
He rejoined Merthyr in 2009 before re-emerging in the Welsh Premier with Talbot where he has resumed his striking role.
"He’s made a huge impact here since joining us in the summer – he’s given us a real lift and has been a leader," Jones added.
"This is great news for everyone involved and it’s vital that we have been able to commit such a key player to the club.
"Tez is delighted to be signing and he absolutely loves it here – he says the fans are the best he’s ever played in front of."
