Re: Hereford Utd-Expelled from Conference-Could they end up in our League?
The farce goes on!!! Hereford failed to pay their FOOTBALL CREDITORS by 5.00PM Yesterday as requested by the Southern League.....They now face extra sanctions being imposed by the Southern League...Whatever they may be!!!
If they can not pay Football Creditors reputed to be £148k, what chance have they of paying their total debts which are reputed to be £1.3M.
Would have been better for their long suffering supporters if the SL had done the same as the NPL and not accepted them as this would probably have forced them into Administration, the FA would then have got involved and this would have given their Supporters fresh hope that they could achieve their aim of owning their own club.

Latest news after Saturdays AGM of the SL (see BULLSNEWS) is that the SL have told HU that ALL Creditors (Football & Non Football=£1.3m) must be paid by opening of UK Banking Time Today.....If not the SL will impose further sanctions which could include the expulsion of HU from the SL

Re: Hereford Utd expelled from Conference.
Ken Turner Chairmen of The Southern League has today confirmed Hereford Utd's place in the Southern League, the Clubs Officials having transferred payments to most of the clubs creditors, and having deposited a sum of money with a third party to cover other outstanding debt's, still to be settled.

Shamelessly copied from the Southern League Forum:-
"This might be hilariously funny if it were not so shambolic.
Safety Certificate Decision Delayed.
Herefordshire Council have refused to issue a safety certificate this afternoon for Edgar Street.
The meeting has been adjourned for 48 hours to allow the club to try and meet criteria. A final decision is expected to now be made on Thursday, just two days before they are due to entertain St Neots Town in the first game of the season.
Mike Pigrem of the Council told the Hereford Times:
"Unfortunately, the council, police and fire service are not satisfied that all of the necessary statutory requirements have been met or that all of the relevant paperwork is in place,"
"However, we are working closely with the club's newly appointed safety consultants as well as club representatives, in order to try and resolve the outstanding issues."

Hereford have now received a safety certificate for their game on Saturday, but it is only for 1,000 people to be in the ground. Although the Southern League's ground grading requirements apparently call for a minimum capacity of 1,950, presumably they are able to get around that by the certificate being a temporary one and would have to make improvements for later matches.

Latest update on Bulls News is Hereford's CVA has been rejected by creditors. In effect putting an end to Hereford United as a football club.

Due to CVA being rejected by HMRC who are owed £170k, they will face a winding up hearing in the High Court on 1-9-2014, only hope now is if someone comes forward to buy the club & arrange to pay all debts, which is highly unlikely. Therefore this looks like the end for this historical club.
Lets hope their supporters can now realise their dream & form a brand new supporters owned club ready for next season and hopefully they can compete at a reasonable non league level given their undoubted facilities( assuming they can still use the present ground) and support.
Good luck to all true HU supporters concerned in this quest.

Re: Hereford Utd-Expelled from Conference-Could they end up in our League?
Word on the street - I mean the Internet forums - is that if as seems likely Hereford go out of business on 1st September it will mean only 3 clubs being relegated from the Southern Premier Division this season. The knock-on effect will mean that one of the clubs finishing next-to-bottom in the Central and South & West divisions will also be reprieved from relegation.
But let's hope that doesn't concern us!
Apparently Hereford mean to fulfil their fixture tomorrow and may continue playing until they close, although it seems literally pointless. I suppose the reasoning for the Southern League allowing this state of affairs is that as KPT1950 says, someone MAY come forward to rescue the club in the meantime.
Opinion is that any new Hereford club would start next season at Step 5 - i.e. Hellenic Premier level.
