Cardiff City Are Coming to Town

Fantastic news from the Cigg-e Stadium. Merthyr Town V Cardiff City XI on Thursday 10th October.


The game is a massive boost for the club both on and off the field, and further strengthens the links between both clubs. A full Cigg-e stadium would be amazing, kick off is 7.30pm and is priced at £5 per adult and £2 for under 16's.

Fantastic news for the club ! It should help generate some welcome revenue and I know many Cardiff fans enjoy making the trip up the A470. Lets hope for a good crowd and be a great night at the home of football. UP THE TOWN

As a fan of both clubs this really is fantastic news indeed. For long as I can remember there has always been a special bond between the clubs and long may it continue. I'm sure the many City fans who live in the borough and surrounding valleys will swell the gate to make it a memorable night at the Park.

I wonder what gate we will have tomorrow? I have heard estimates between 500 (!) and up to 2,000 or 3,000. It will be interesting to see what happens.

I would estimate around 1,500 but as you say Tim who knows !! A lot of City fans in Merthyr never mind surrounding area so could be tidy.

If we play PSG or Lyon in a pre-season friendly next year this French song would get them dancing on terraces.

Excuse my geography ....and I am sure the Low Countries were for a short time between 1942 and 1944 mainly German speaking ....but Nena was not Belgian...Solihull....I believe she was a muncher of sauerkraut and bratwurst......but a great idea ....
