Re: promotion updates
Sounds like the relegation promotion issues are being driven from Wembley and the SL will have no say in it. It will be imposed on them.

Re: promotion updates
According to the report both the Northern Premier and Southern Leagues have no desire to increase to 24 clubs. This would suggest that the Southern League will not be prepared to accept any decision even if it is forced upon them.
The whole issue has been part of a consultation process and this will probably continue. Surely the FA will provide the members of the SL with an option to at least vote on the proposal?

Re: promotion updates
The FA met earlier today to decide on the respective League allocated to the Club's eligible for the promotion places with the outcome scheduled to be made public on 25th May.
I assume that the club's involved, including ours, will know in the next ten days where we are destined to play next season.

Promotion Updates
I note that listed as relegated from the Southern League to level 5, are Fleet Town, and Marlow from the Central division, and Stourport Swifts from the Southern division; just checked my map, and Stourport from the Southern division are further north than Fleetwood, and Marlow in the central division. Does anybody know how are these areas determined, is it latitude or just a request to the leagues governing body, and they try to accomodate?

Re: promotion updates
Just a thought - the divisions are actually Central and South & West (not Southern), so the thing about Stourport could have been that were further west than Fleet and Marlow. It would certainly have made sense for them to be in with the likes of Cinderford and Halesowen (especially the latter).
I don't think Central equates with the old Midland Division that Merthyr were once in - it seems to be more DOWN the middle of the country rather than across.
But I've no idea how clubs are allocated to various divisions and whether they are able to request where they would like to be.
