WALTON AND HERSHAM V MERTHYR
Merthyr go to Walton and Hersham on Sarurday after the Surrey side have lost their last two home games. They fell 3-1 to Hendon on Tuesday despite a first minute lead, missing the chance to go above Merthyr. Walton lost also to Plymouth Parkway, Walton are in fifth place with the Martyrs fourth. Merthyr are 10 points behind leaders Salisbury.

Walton & Hersham, have this week signed striker Ibrahim Olutade from Folkestone Invicta, where he scored 25 goals in 72 appearances. (Not sure if he played against us, during last year’s FA Cup run.) His previous clubs include Maidstone, Tonbridge and Leatherhead. One to keep a close eye on during today’s fixture.

Walton and Hersham v Merthyr
Walton won't want to lose a third successive home match. My forecast is a draw. But three away points will be better!
Lewis Powell gives Merthyr a sixth minute lead. 17 mins Alex John booked , Liveemore hurt and Thomas on. Before break John gets a second yellow and is sent off. Two goals inn stoppage time o first half, Rees scores a penaltyt but Walton get a goal too. HT Merthyr 2-1 up.
Early after break Powell off for Woodiwiss.Mehew makes it 3-1. 3-2 now
There were seven added minutes, Handley made crucial block and Merthyr win 3-2. !!

Amazing performance and result, for more reasons than one. Even a couple of weeks ago, I think we would have crumbled, but did the complete opposite today. Full credit to all involved. It felt like a ‘six pointer’ against today’s opponents. I think we should be awarded six after that. Phew!
