Matthew was rested Thursday to protect a suspected ankle problem, which has presumably improved.

F/t lost 1-0. Not our greatest performance by all accounts; had the majority of the ball, but out-fought & lacking a cutting edge.

Thanks for the updates.
Disappointing result. First time we've failed to score in a league game.

Disappointing . May be three games in five days to much after such a long layoff. Bring on Hengrove hopefully at Penydarren Park next Saturday.

When can you expect to hear of the decision by the Western League ?

I read somewhere that the decision will be given on Monday. What I don't know is on what grounds was the clubs request to return to Peny Park refused by the Western league?cliffyboy wrote:GordonTheGopher wrote:Disappointing . We don't know when we will get a decision after Monday's hearing. Watch this space.

Re: Melksham Town v MERTHYR
We had most of the play yesterday but lacked a cutting edge. Melksham scored from virtually their only chance and defended very well with their 2 centre halves mopping up everything either in the air or on the ground. Their defending was a bit desperate towards the end making good blocks and the ball never seemed to bounce well for us.
There was acres of space out wide, but for once we failed to take advantage of it. The pitch was like a gluepot and not conducive to our passing game and we looked off the pace at times. It seems that certain players are taking longer to recover from our enforced layoff than others and I'm pleased we have another game on Tuesday to improve match fitness and sharpness.
A MOTM from yesterday is a difficult choice because no-one really played at the top of their game but if I did have to make a choice it'd probably be Leekie as he was at the heart of anything half decent we tried.
