Theatre of Dreams
Despite a distinctive "end of season " atmosphere it was pleasing to witness the team achieve mathematical safety against Redditch .
Hats off to Steve Jenkins and all the squad for this magnificent achievement despite financial constraints , numerous departures/arrivals and the early season loss of a supposedly "loyal " leader .
The new redevelopment facilities are about to be unleashed upon the thirsty supporters and will be a real income asset and ,of course ,a warm place to go during the long Merthyr winter .
Have to say it is a complex that looks more akin to an offshoot from a business park rather than a football facility .
However it would be churlish of me to complain after all the hard work and organisation undertaken behind the scenes .
After all - back in Roman times the local indigenous population ( or should that be indignant ) were complaining about the designs of the dwellings that the invaders had constructed @ Penydarren Park .
.... and what have the Romans ever done for us ?
Apart from straight roads , numerous varieties of Pasta in Morrisons` and a defensively orientated team manager who has ensured another season in the Premier League for Swansea City .
Anyway, congratulations again to all @ PP and here`s to continued progress both on and off the field - the " Price of Success " is always high but always achievable .
...... right now I`m off to " Specsavers " ( hearing division ) for some fashionable PP earplugs to counteract the new " Bruce Springsteen maxi volume " Main Grandstand PA system !
