1-1 pen stroke of half time. Down to 10 as well - deliberate hand ball. Very harsh.

Now down to 9. Very bad tackle. ref allowed earlier incident to go unpunished.

merthyr v poole
good result under the circumstances, well excellant result under the circumstances. However very disappointing. given the opposition. to lose 2 men cos we could have won with 11 I am sure and closed the gap. Anyway, keep going, lots of games and points to play for. I still believe we can get the top spot.

Merthyr v Poole
Never mind the Birmingham six or the Guildford seven...the Merthyr nine did themselves proud today.
I have never seen 11 men 'hanging on' against nine men before.
11 v 11 it would have been a no contest.
I feel sorry for that Poole player...I hope his injury isn't as serious as it looked.
It wouldn't have happened if the referee and linesman had blown up for the earlier foul on preen.
Nathan and Matthew both deserved to go off and the referee got most of the big decisions correct with little help from the two juvenile linos
My gripe is that first half he was too busy letting fouls go without cards than imposing his will on the game.
It is a hard job to do in the middle as u can't win...but I bet that poor Poole player wishes he had blown up when he should have.
Merthyr were good value for the draw but whilst I feel the 9 man Dunkirk spirit the town showed won the battle - I fear Poole have won the war by getting that draw....but they should have put us to the sword....they had four men in their own half to mark Marcus and Traylor.
It was a master stroke by Danny carter -tactically- as he told them to go wide and use the goal kicks for service.
An amazing result....crazy tackles and some good goals but my thoughts go out to that Poole player.
I hope he is okay.

merthyr v poole
NOTHING HAS CHANGED AT THE TOP. SWINDON SUPERMARINE HELD AT HOME TO A 0-0 DRAW.
C'MON MERTHYR, YOU CAN DO THIS. CONSISTENCY IS EVERYTHING NOW. LETS GET YOU BACK OUT ON TUESDAY AND GET 3 POINTS AGAINST SWINDON. THAT'S THE BEST RESULT. FORGET ABOUT TODAY'S INCIDENTS. YOU GOT A POINT AGAINST THE ODDS.

Broken leg according to the Poole Town forum. I did see an ambulance arriving as I left the ground at the end.

Re: MERTHYR v Poole
Well, what to say....
Firstly, I think Boz has got it pretty much spot on with his summary and analysis. The only point I'd contend with - probably unsurprisingly - would be the so-called 'Referee'. In my opinion, they guy was a total hole and totally put of his depth. Whilst you cannot condone either of the cards in terms of foul play, they both came about as a direct result of his total ineptitude: the first for to way.excess of added time (an abject failing he totally failed to address given his second half excuse for a performance) and the second as a direct consequence of his complete abdication for giving the most blatant free kick in the build-up. To be clear, this in no way excuses the tackle, but if you cannot control a game you simply should not be on the park. to me, its less about the arseistants, and all about the TOTAL INEPTITUDE of the man totally in charge. Judging from the comments on this topic, and in the bar, mine is not a single view.
I'm terms of Poole: firstly can I apologise to any fans at the game for perceived unsporting behaviour. I thought the away fans were excellent, both as company and in cheering I'm their team. Secondly I thought their team was first rate: as well as being a big physical side I thought they played some excellent football. Third, can I wish the injured player,a speedy recovery: I understand he is not in the first flushes of youth, and it would be unfortunate if this injury curtailed his career. I hope its a twist, as I heard, rather than a break. Best of luck for the remainder of the season.
