Full time 1-1. Not a bad result at all but a shame they got the equaliser so close to the end

Good enough for all 3 points. Still, that's 3 games now unbeaten against Poo le

Today's team:

Garner;
Davies,Jones,Baggridge,Bloom;
Traylor,Wright,Scotcher,Jenkins;
Reffell,McLaggon;

Subs:
Bond for Scotcher (injured) after about 70 minutes
Prosser for McLaggon after about 72 minutes
Brown for Jenkins after about 80 minutes
Hugh
Morgan

Keyon Reffell kept his place in the side ahead of Ryan Prosser (maybe not fully fit?) and Glyn Garner made his debut. With Ashley Evans suspended Elliot Scotcher got the nod over Chad Bond to start in midfield. Corey Jenkins was also in the side ahead of Jon Brown or Kerry Morgan as we played 4-4-2 again.

Play was largely confined to midfield early on, until after about 10 minutes when Kayne McLaggon was brought down as he was looking to break clear into the area on the left, producing a booking for Poole's Jamie Whisken. Elliot Scotcher took the free kick and was clearly aiming for the far top corner of the goal, with the ball clipping the top of the stanchion. Soon afterwards Keyon Reffell set up Kayne McLaggon on the left of the area and his shot to the near post was just kept out by the keeper.

We took a deserved lead after about 15 minutes when Corey Jenkins on the left put over a right footed cross which was challenged for by Kayne McLaggon, Keyon Reffell and a defender. It appeared to come off the defender with Reffell claiming the final touch for his first goal for the club.

After about 25 minutes a Poole free kick into the box from the left led to a shot which was cleared off the line, then another which drew a point blank save from Glyn Garner. Just a minute later we could have had a second goal when the ball reached Kayne McLaggon with a bit of room to work on the edge of the area. He picked his spot with a shot close to the foot of the post but the keeper was able to push it away.

James Bloom then had to make a clearance off the line after Poole attacked down the left and an attacker took the ball past Garner. After about 37 minutes Keyon Reffell and Corey Jenkins combined in a break down the right, with the latter being set up for a shot which he put straight at the keeper although the latter couldn't hold on to it.

Overall there'd not been much to choose between the two sides in the first half with both having had chances to add to the scoreline.

About 11 minutes after the break there was a good ball across the area from Adam Davies, but Kayne McLaggon was unable to get much power into his shot and the keeper saved near the post. A minute or so later a Poole attacker hit the far post with a 30-yard drive from the left after a free kick into the area had been only half cleared.

We rather wasted a couple of good openings midway through the half, first when Elliot Scotcher over-ran the ball in the middle outside the area, and then when good work on the left by Keyon Reffell set up Corey Jenkins for a wild shot which went out for a throw on the far side. A more worthy effort came on about 68 minutes when Scotcher crossed the ball back in following a corner and Keyon Reffell put a header just over the bar.

Scotcher then took a knock and limped off to be replaced by Chad Bond, and a couple of minutes later Ryan Prosser came on for Kayne McLaggon. Then with about 10 minutes to go Jon Brown replaced Corey Jenkins on the left.

It looked as if good defending might be good enough to keep Poole out, but on about 85 minutes after a corner lead to a bout of head tennis the final header over Garner came from Poole defender Will Spetch.

Although Poole pressed in the remaining minutes we did have our moments, with a shot from Ian Traylor which the keeper had covered, and another fierce shot from him which the keeper pushed away. However, with Poole putting some pressure on I think we were glad to hear the final whistle and get a very acceptable point from a game which could have gone either way.

We certainly matched the team at the top of the top of the table - although as this was their 4th successive draw they're no longer in danger of running away with the division as seemed likely at one time. With a bit more steadiness we could have gone 2-0 up at various stages, and I think if we'd done that in the second half our defence were capable of keeping Poole at bay for the win.

For 'man' of the match I'd choose all of the back four as all took the eye at various stages. Glyn Garner had a steady game, and with all respect to Cameron Clarke I think we needed his experience in a game like this. Jarrad Wright did well in midfield, and Corey Jenkins used his pace to good effect in the first half, but I can't help thinking that out of him, Jon Brown and Kerry Morgan you're more likely to get a goal from the latter. Keyon Reffell impressed again and it's the best I've seen from Kayne McLaggon since he came back from his injury and he looked more like his old self again.

A very good attendance today with only two better in the division. The teams below us all failed to win (or didn't play) so we stay 16th.

Good result against a strong team that will surely be promoted this season.Pity about the goal ,overall thought Glyn Garner had a very good game and saved a certain goal on one occasion.We missed Ashley in mid-field but the boys played well.Thought our fans were a bit foolish and showed lack of respect with"TOP OF THE LEAGUE YOUR HAVING A LAUGH" as most teams as Poole did would raise their game when taunted like this.I know its only banter but that's my opinion.Oh and they are obviously top for a good reason.There were good comments on their site about the warm welcome their fans received in the Town Centre and also at Penydarren Park.

I thought Poole were a good side and it was an entertaining game to watch.HOPEFULLY the sad incident with one of Poole's players a few years ago will now put aside and goodwill will be around for future meetings.

It is a hard call to make for Steve I think he must replace either Cory or Traylor no good fitting him in mid field .
