FORMER PLAYER DIES

john Williams, a wing half (then) with Merthyr Tydfil, in the 1960s when Harry Griffiths was manager, has died.Fron Rhymney, he was born in 1936, and signed for Cardiff but didn't play a game for them. He played for Plymouth, Torquay and Weymouth before joining Merthyr. Aferwards he played for Ton Pentre. John was a training officer at Hoover for 20 years.On Vital Argyle website there is a full report on his cafreer.
He had been in a home for a few years but I often saw him in town for a chat before that.
