Bath City plight
Bath City chairman has said that the club must move from Twerton Park or "perish". The ground is a "drain on resources."
I think Twerton Park was the first non-League ground I visited other than Penydarren Park.

Re: Bath City plight
Always enjoyed my visits to Twerton Park over the years; a proper old-fashioned non-league ground.
Bristol Rovers in the FA Cup in 1988(?) was a great afternoon despite the hammering on the pitch.
The catering was always rubbish though, who can forget the frisbee burgers?

Has someone been buying jokes from our club President?

I got into Twerton Park once in my 20s, through the child turnstile, while carrying 8 cans of lager.

Let's hope people don't attempt to defraud the Martyrs by not paying the correct admission price at Penydarren Park.

Probably Hofmeister lager! I trod on an unopened can in the Status Quo concert at Cardiff Castle!

More than likely they have. Let's hope football clubs think of the struggling working man, to afford them to see their team play

Re: Bath City plight
The clubs still have to pay the players' wages, the managerial staff, the bar staff at the Candac Suite, the groundsman, gas and electricity, rates and water rates, printing costs, phone bills, registration of players, transport to away games, maintenance of the pitch and ground, first-aid equipment etc.
They have to pay for the drinks for the Candac Suite, the food for the Penalty Spot Cafe, expenses for the referee and his assistants etc. And there is no "sugar daddy" waving a magic wand and paying all the costs.
Clubs such as Merthyr Town have to be run as a business!
