Merthyr Town 1 AFC Totton 3
Merthyr- Lewis Powell   38  mins, Joseph Turner       35 and  68 minutes, Scott Rendell 90 plus 3, a penalty.

Merthyr's last Southern League home win was on August 26. Merthyr have not won in six games, league and FA Trophy.    One point has been gleaned from the last five league games as Merthyr have dropped out of the play-off places to be leapfrogged by Totton.
The score was a little harsh perhaps as Merthyr had been pressing to try and get at least a draw. But the side have kept a clean sheet only twice this season, and the second goal saw a muddle at the back. The side seem to be out-fought in  the middle of the park. Fans were glad to see Lewis Powell return-- and get on the score-sheet but at present there is a resounding echo from last season with away form out-shining that at home. There are now two away games before Poole Town at home on November 28- Harrow Borough and Walton and Hersham.
The crowd of 629 was the third best in the league this afternoon! I don't know what can be done to arrest this disappointing slide. It was Ex-Players' Day too. That normally brings a home defeat.
The afternoon began with silence to mark the fallen of two World Wars.

The manager and Jack Evans had a little discussion after the latter was substituted as he made his way to the stand.
Among the ex-players present were Andy Beattie, Miicky Lenihan, David Jones, Kevin Rogers, and David Webley.
