Cinderford Town v Merthyr Town
The match-day programme is now online.Cinderford chairman says:"I really do think this is going to be one hell of a game with a great atmosphere, as we are all aware of the fantastic travelling support Merthyr have, especially to The Causeway if recent games in recent years are anything to go by."
He welcomes back former Cinderford players "Alex Harris, Lewis Binns,Gethyn Hill and Cameron Clarke."
He adds:"I am more than confident that we can get the result we want and continue our Cup run."
Cinderford are likely to have a full squad available and "hopefully a surprise signing as long as the paperwork goes through in time."
He does say the game is " a REST BITE from the league!!"
I think he means a "RESPITE." !!!
Cinderford are seventh in Div 1 with five wins, two draws and three defeats, 19 goals for and 16.
Manager Paul Michael has played for Haverfordwest and Clevedon and was player manager of Risca. He is PE head at Abersychan Comprehensive School.
Assistant is Andrew Smith (maintaining the Welsh links)who has played for Newport County, Weston, Clevedon and Monmouth. He was No 2 to Steve Jenkins at Monmouth.Their midfield includes ex-Martyr Ben Watkins.
Notes from the manager is a blank page!
