220 or thereabouts if you go round the Northern M25. That's 10 less than from here to Merthyr, so stop whingeing.Tim Drummond wrote:About a 240 mile trip from Merthyr..
Anyhow, does anyone know wy the FA have messed up the FA Trophy this year so that it finishes with a final in March? The date for the East Thurrock game (16th November) now irritatingly clashes with the FA Vase Round 2.

And also with a preplanned evening out with Mrs OS. I'll be missing my first Merthyr Town away game!timshorts wrote:220 or thereabouts if you go round the Northern M25. That's 10 less than from here to Merthyr, so stop whingeing.Tim Drummond wrote:About a 240 mile trip from Merthyr..

Can't you tempt her with the shopping delight that is "Lakeside". That's in Thurrock.
Seriously though, if this is the first one missed ever, that's quite a feat. Can anyone else match it?
Pray for rain. Although if their pitch is anything like Canvey Island, the sand will soak it up.

I am praying, matey but unless it's called off early it'll be very costly for us travel wise. To be honest if we win I don't care if I'm there or not (he lied)! Mrs OS has already been to Lakeside so she's already had that treat.timshorts wrote:Can't you tempt her with the shopping delight that is "Lakeside". That's in Thurrock.

Re: FA Trophy Draw
Notice Old S was careful to say Merthyr Town - so that's 'only' since 2010 (still a good record though).
But I'm assuming he wasn't including the 1908-1935 period of the old Merthyr Town!
Seriously though, I hope he can lend his Dictaphone to someone for the day as his report will be missed.

Only Wandering remembers the earlier incarnation of Merthyr Town! I'm sure Jamie will provide a full account of the happenings on the day.Merthyr Imp wrote:Notice Old S was careful to say Merthyr Town - so that's 'only' since 2010 (still a good record though).
