Re: Hengrove v MERTHYR
About time he scored again. He'd been suffering a bit of a goal drought - two games without scoring before today.

Final scores up:
http://football.mitoo.co.uk/FixtResMonth.cfm?TblName=Matches&DivisionID=12343&LeagueCode=SDWFL2010&MonthNo=4
We won 3-0.
Key results:
Devizes 4 Cadbury 1
Oldland 2 Bradford 2
Bridport 2 Calne 1
So I make it we're on 80 points and no-one else can get more than 80 points (both Bridport and Oldland)
All down to goal difference as things stand. A point next Saturday and we're definnitely champions.

Re: Hengrove v MERTHYR
Looks like we will be crowned Leagues Champions at home next week. With our goal difference we could still lose all our remaining games (which is extremely unlikely!) and still win the league. Well done lads, I'm looking forward to seeing us back at the Park next season in the Premier Division.
Also, well done Ryan Prosser, that makes it 19 goals in 18 games which is an excellent return considering he signed for us mid-season. He would probably have been the leagues top scorer if he had played from the beginning of the season.

Yep, just done the maths. Technically we need a point to guarantee promotion & the Championship - although it would take some amazing results to deprive us of either. Hope the league have the common sense to have the title at TW next week!

Yes, it would need us to lose each of our remaining games by something like 5 goals each time, plus Oldland and Bridport would both need to win all their remaining games by an average of 5 or 6 goals each time.

Re: Hengrove v MERTHYR
Almost there barring a strange set of results over the next few weeks. It would be great to win it in style at home (TW) to Gillingham next week.
It was another hard game similar to Westbury last Friday. Hengrove are better than Westbury and defended well but they used the same tactics - i.e. kick everything that moved. We did struggle to sew the game up after Ryan Prosser's excellent header which bounced up into the roof of the net after a really good corner from Marcus. A combination of Hengrove's tactics and a poor playing surface prevented us from scoring more until late in the game when Pross did really well running into the area beating a couple of defenders before slipping it past the keeper. Scotty made a good run into the area and was about to shoot when he was fouled and amazingly the referee gave a penalty which was duly despatched by Pross for his hat trick which sealed the game. I said "amazingly" because he gave us very little all afternoon and despite some poor tackles from some Hengrove players the first player booked was Leigh Smith (I think) for kicking the ball away after a free kick had been given against him.
MOTM has to be Ryan Prosser. He did well today - besided his 3 goals - and even if he's not at his best he still makes himself a nuisance to defences allowing others to cash in. We've got ourselves a really good un here and well done to Sheppy & Danny for spotting him.
