Wales & Merthyr Football Exhibition closes this week
The football exhibition at Cyfarthfa Castle Museum opened yesterday.
The exhibition is situated in the room adjacent to the castle gift shop and reception.
It covers both Welsh international football and the game in Merthyr Tydfil.
The club's mobile museum project provides the backdrop to the exhibition which also includes a replica FA Cup, memorabilia from Cardiff City's 1927 Cup win, one of Fred Keenor's shirts plus biographies of international players from our town throughout the years.
There's a cabinet with some Merthyr programmes spanning 100 years of matches at Penydarren Park.
It's a small area but well worth a visit.
The tea room is also worth a visit, great food and drink available. I recommend the banana cake!
It's at the museum until 28th March, opening times during the day are 10am until 4pm.

Another good venture for the club. A pity that the official launch had to be scrapped as I was looking forward to that. Still, pop along, folks, and enjoy..

Just a note to advise that there is still an opportunity for anyone to add to the exhibition at Cyfarthfa Castle Museum. It's a small viewing area but new items are always welcome to advertise Merthyr's position in Welsh football. Thanks for your support.

Thanks to all the Merthyr Town supporters who came to the Q&A session with Chris Coleman and Kath Morgan at Cyfarthfa Castle tonight. It was an enjoyable evening with plenty of mentions of Merthyr especially our Welsh Cup battles with Swansea City over the years.
A reminder that the exhibition remains at Cyfarthfa Castle Museum until Thursday 28th March.

Well played & cheers...
...for the exhibition and the effort put into it.
Had a nosey today and was interesting and it provided me with half hours entertainment.
I never knew that the first game played at the park was Treharris v Aberdare, Town lads lagging behind the valley Wallahs' again!
Keep up the good work.

Wales and Merthyr Football Exhibition ends this week
Gort round to seeing the exhibition which ends at the end of this week.
Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Plenty of stuff about Merthyr Town/Tydfil/Town and excellent exhibits around Cardiff's FA Cup win and Welsh football in general.
