New Signing
Hi everyone hope the euros are keeping everyone in the football mood until ours resume. We have just resigned Jamie Rewbury from Cambrian and we are still waiting on one more.
Cheers

Good to see Rewbs back. With him, Tubbsy & Colborne we should be tight at the back. Who's the one more Shep?

Re: New Signing
It certainly strengthens the squad, as we're certainly well provided for with central defenders now (surely a player or two will be leaving?), and couldf also release Jason Welsh to play up front if needed. I would think there's also the possibility of Rewbury playing in midfield - where we're also well off for numbers now, especially if, as we hope, Tareq Khalil will be fit again.

Correct - forgot about Welshy so we are looking good at the back.

Scamp did mention Lee Hartshorn in his posting of 13th June earlier on this thread, pointing out that he is another of the central defenders on the books.
We've yet to hear of any players from last season leaving

Me to Risca.Martyr. Perhaps this is what tomboy meant to say.
What about Lee Hartshone is he not part of the set up for next season? Played well then never played after the semi-final defeat, it would-be a great shame if he is not, anyone know the situation?

Thanks for the update mate, although I like Lee as a player and a person I think we have a lot of cover at CB now and wish him all the best!

Re: New Signing
I seem to remember in the John Lewis (!) era we had no lesss than half-a-dozen centre halves on the books (although Lima may have been one of them, so may not count!), and frequently played 4 of them in the back four. The motto "you can never have enough defenders" was born...
Or have I once again got it wrong?!!

It may have been in 1998 - Ray John, Mark Williams, Craig Lima, Gareth Abraham, Adrian Needs.Solihull Martyr wrote:I seem to remember in the John Lewis (!) era we had no lesss than half-a-dozen centre halves on the books (although Lima may have been one of them, so may not count!), and frequently played 4 of them in the back four.
Although Bambi and Ray John were both sweepers and Mark Williams also played at fullback and in midfield.

Re: New Signing
Maybe Solihull was thinking of John Lewis's second spell in charge - in the 2001/2 season. I think for a brief spell that season we had all the following on the books at the same time:
Adrian Needs, Jimmy Rollo, Dean Philpott, Andrew Mumford (on loan), Mark Williams, Craig Lima and Gareth Elliott. Although Mark Williams had almost retired from playing by then and only made a few appearances in League Cup games.
We also had Neil Sharp just before that time, but I think he'd left before Mumford arrived for his loan spell.
