GOYTRE United gained a 7-1 victory at Cwmaman Institute to retake second place in division one of the MacWhirter Welsh League.
Though the victory pushed the Cynon Valley side closer to relegation, they went a goal up early on.
Adam Carpenter equalised from a corner, while goals from Craig Steins, Richard French and Paul Jones made it 4-1 at the break.
Steins netted twice on the restart to complete a hat-trick, with substitute Richard Ryan netting in the 70th minute.
Goytre, who have remaining away fixtures against Ton Pentre and Cardiff Corries, lead third-placed Bryntirion on goal difference.
But Pontardawe Town crashed to a 5-0 home defeat against champions elect Cambrian & Clydach.
Jason Bertorelli netted twice for the Rhondda Valley side, while Robbie Walters, Jamie Rewbury and Michael Jones were also on target.
