Ashley Evans switched from Neath to south Wales rivals Llanelli on transfer deadline day after his contract was cancelled by mutual consent.

The 21-year-old Evans joined Neath in May 2009 after one season at Merthyr Tydfil and has made thirty-six Principality Welsh Premier appearances.

A tough tackling combative player, he gained international honours with the Wales Schools under-18s and is a former Newport County and Swansea City youth who has also played in the Welsh League with Ton Pentre.

Meanwhile, Neath also loaned defender Liam Hancock to Carmarthen Town and confirmed the capture of goalkeeper Lee Idzi from Haverfordwest County.
