HT 0-0;.Lewis  Powell and Keiran Evans went close as Merthyr began  well but play was a little disjointed before the break. 52 minutes and Ricardo Rees puts Merthyr 1-0 up from a penalty.

"I thought it was a really good performance from the boys, " the Merthyr manager commented afterwards, saying it was a difficult place to go, with a sloping pirch. He was delighted that Cogman was able to keep a clean sheet after his error on Saturday.
The home boss thought that his side had not competed as well as they had in recent games, and he felt they lacked discipline at times.
"We are going to have a real good go on Saturday at getting into the first round of The FA Cup," said Paul Michael=,looking ahead to Saturday.
