MATCH IS OFF
Merthyr's game with Truro tomorrow is OFF along with all National League, FA Trophy and grassroots fixtures as a mark of respect following the death of The Queen,

God ( no saves) the Queen
Never been a monarchist nor a Republican either but shocked to hear the fixture has been cancelled.
Especially daunting for the Cornish team who would now be expected to drive all the way to Wales on a midweek.
No Premiership football either.
Ah well there is always the wonderful programmes on television…oh wait ….the only box set left available is the Crown on Netflix.
Great weekend all round then.

Re: MATCH IS OFF
No disrespect to Truro, (they won’t be the only travelling team to be inconvenienced, there will be hundreds) but, we too had to travel there in midweek last season, when their pitch was unplayable on the original fixture. We lost 3-1. Were they concerned about us? I doubt it. Just be grateful it’s not us again. Can we just concentrate on our own club?

MATCH OFF
Not sure where most of the players live as they play home games this season at Bolitho Park, Plymouth. But it's a fair trip for either side on any day. We have had other midweek treks in the past- Dover, Ashford, Folkestone etc.

Re: MATCH IS OFF
A big thank you to the Merthyr Tydfil & District Darts League for supporting the Merthyr Town FC Darts Open at such short notice yesterday.
It was great to see Romans Bar so full for the afternoon with plenty of money going over the bar to hopefully help with the loss of revenue for the postponed game.
Congratulations to Sam Gibbons for winning the cash prize with an impressive win over Jason Launchbury in the Final.
Andrew Williams from our own darts team made the semi-finals stage.
We'll repeat the event again next year and hopefully it will become a fixture in the local darts calendar.
