Well, looks like the ‘Deadly Duo’ are here to stay. Hope they’ll see the season out fully though and end up cleaning out the dressing rooms. Then we can call it season complete. They might surprise us all and do a decent job and find something they are good at.

Re Merthyr v poole
Well, Merthyr's 2021-22 groundhog day season limps along to it's inevitable conclusion. Another game, another defeat. In fact, a definition of groundhog day has it as 'a situation in which a series of unwelcome or tedious events appear to be recurring in exactly the same way'. Seems about right.
Another (recently repeated) parliamentary quote from 1940, when Leo Amery MP's withering speech demanded Chamberlain's resignation, also seems a good fit for our management duo...'you have sat too long here for any good you have been doing. Depart...in the name of God go'. Hyperbolic, hell yes. But listening to Poole's podcast commentary on their 'comfortable' win earlier it also struck me that (sticking with the ghastly political) that the current regime couldn't organise a work event in Downing St.

Not a pip all week again on the football front from HQ, hence the widening gap between the club (fan owned apparently) and the paying fans. There was even more news on the club’s darts team……… Incredible state of affairs. Roll on April and put us out of our misery. At least for this season.

“Key” players missing through injury or travel sickness? Getting messier by the day!
