Pity this has left the club with egg on its face perhaps should have perceived with Cameron clarke we do not have an experienced goalkeeper though we seem to be doing ok at Dorchester at the moment

1-2. A great strike to pull a goal back. The hosts also hit the bar on 58mins.

Loyalty Bonus
Any win is great given our circumstances but today's side including our youngest ever first time keeper deserve a special of applause.
Now if only one of us fans can win the rollover lottery ( or the tax on the numerically challenged) and perhaps we can reward these guys for their loyalty in a season of turmoil.
Of course only those players that remain and care about the club.
Fingers crossed.

Re: Dorchester Town v MERTHYR
The boys dug out a great win today. With Ollie moving on, Ed Hewitson did well in goal and was not at fault for Dorchester's goal. He was confident with balls coming through to him and he made a few good saves and in fact it was a back pass that put him under pressure which led to the home team goal.
Merthyr should have won in a canter. Traylor scored two excellent goals (the second of which I missed because of my kitman duties) and could easily have had another as in the second half he failed to capitalise on a 1 to 1 with the keeper. Kerry Morgan also had a similar chance which he put over the bar in the second half and during the game the Dorch keeper, Weale, made some excellent saves from Traylor (twice) and Franklin also could have scored in the first half.
The fact that Weale was named MOTM says it all.
The boys put in a real shift today and ground out a win on a gluepot of a pitch. They were under considerable pressure on times but defended manfully and at half time our team came off with their kit muddied whereas the home team kits seemed to be pristine clean in comparison such was the will to win of the Martyrs.
Traylor was superb today and would have been my MOTM for the Martyrs but all the lads dug in and we came away with a deserved win.
