Southern League Premier?
is the southern league premier the same league Merthyr were in before they went into administration??
am i right in thinking that league is another 2 promotions away from where the Martyrs are now??
also am i right in thinking then that the Martyrs are now 3 promotions away from the Conference Blue Square South??
excuse me i dont mean to sound ignorant, just only started having an interest in lower league football the past 6 months or so.

Yes, and at present Penydarren Park's grading is not good enough for the Blue Square South.

Surprising considering newport fans are continually moaning about the state of their ground.Any idea what problems we would have for the blue square premier

Re: Southern League Premier?
As Merthyr Tydfil three seasons ago the club were, in theory anyway, bidding for promotiion. The ground was inspected and the club given a list of what was needed as criteria for The Blue Square South.
With the club being in a cash crisis, of course, nothing was done.
At present, the grading at P Park is good enough for Southern League Premier although that could change with all leagues adding to their criteria every day.
There is a list from The English FA as to criteria needed at the various levels and included are such items as ladies' toilets, number of seats for the Press etc!
Car parking would be a problem if Merthyr were ever to reach The BSP.
We assume PP is still good enough for the next two levels. The ground was recently inspected folowing Merthyr's application to reach Level Four, but I am not aware of what arose from that!
