Re: www.mt-fc.co.uk
Just been having a look at the new site. Lots of good stuff on there, including news of some new initiatives. Only drawbacks I can see are that the list of match results and the stats for the players don't include the FA Cup, FA Vase or Welsh Cup games, nor do players who have left the club (e.g. Scott Armitage) appear in the stats for the matches they played in.
Comprehensive details of the players, though. I wish the websites of some of the other clubs in the division were as good.

Nice website, obviously gonna be a few things to iron out, but they'll come. Some nice little features too. Twitter integration is always good, and like how the player list is organised.
For those who would like a scrolling bar across the bottom of their desktop with Merthyr Town FC news could do worse than install Snackr, it runs on adobe air, and is available from here:
http://snackr.net/
Snackr is an rss feed scroller for the desktop. It has a few basic confiiguration settings and can import feeds from pitchero. Nice. So you could get your own custom sky sports news style ticker on your pc especially set up for Martyrs news.

Problem with new website is that i was continually diverted to macclesfield town website which has a similar address. The only way i overcame this is when i eventually logged on to our website i saved it to my favourites

Re: www.mt-fc.co.uk
great new site guys,
one small thing i noticed, the club shop.
the last site showed MTFC merchandise for sale, i myself bought a Merthyr shirt because of that facility online, are you going to update the online club shop on the new site?
just think it could be a good way to raise more money for the club.

If you look under 'Our Club', then 'MTFC Facilities' then 'Martyrs Merchandise' there's a list of items. prices and contact details. Also on that page - and also under 'Documents' - there's a link to a page showing the shirts and other clothing available.
But perhaps it ought to be another headiing under 'Shop'?

Re: www.mt-fc.co.uk
If anyone on here knows how to edit wikipedia pages, and I don't, then it will be handy if they could update the Merthyr Town wiki page to point to the new website. At present no one links to the new page so I don't know how far down the google ranking the new page is but I couldn't find it at all on google. Building links will of course change that and wikipedia seems as good a place to start as any.
edited to add that it would be handy if bloggers (amber army, dial m and the trust blog) were to update their blogrolls too. I've checked the meta tags and they seem okay so once links are built it should all be tickerty-boo.

Re: www.mt-fc.co.uk
oh and for James and Steve, the google plus social network while in no way especially popular compared to the giants of facebook and twitter, if you add a page on there (they now allow you to create fanpages just like facebook but you must first register with your real name) it does build google ranking and will help people find the new page.

Well you updated the Merthyr Tydfil wiki page but the Merthyr Town one still had link to old. So same again I guess, but this time for the Merthyr Town wikipedia page.
edited to add: nevermind, tis done yay.

oh yeah i didnt see it under MTFC Facilities. maybe being under 'shop' would make it obvious to other visitors.
i must say though that it is a cracking little online club shop service, otherwise i wouldnt been able to have bought my merthyr shirt.

Yes, I think it should have a link to this forum from the website.

Agreed - anyone visiting the MTFC site will then be able to access it to see what's being discussed.
