I heard that he was quitting football altogether when he left Merthyr. I don't think he left through work commitments unless travelling to away games was a problem.
Treforest are a well-run club, have their own social club and I believe their players are paid!
He will be a great signing for what is already a good side. I have seen them twice this season.
