Steino's cross for the first put their centre half under all sorts off pressure. If he hadn't have gone for it Pross was on hand. As it was the centre half passed it beyond the keeper and it had just crossed the line before Pross touched it.

Apparently Ryan Prosser is claiming he touched the ball BEFORE it crossed the line. Anyone else who was there got any opinions on what happened?

It always looks nicer in the records to credit one of your own players with a goal rather than one of the other side!

I agree it's always nicer to credit our players and if Pross says he touched it before it crossed the line then so be it. Maybe the Bridport Bovril affected my eyesight!

What a shocking report on the afternoon events from Bridport match reporter.

We dominated possesion through out and played all the football, we were told in advance Bridport we physical, but they lacked any quality to go with it and therefore in truth we dispatched with ease.

Our first 2 goals were slightly fortuate but we will take them all day long, 3rd was down the hard work and pressure, plus the referee turing down a penalty that was given by his assistant who was in a far better position, but there you go.. was this guy even at the game??

I agree the Bridport keeper was their man of the match, he pulled 2 saves off in the 2nd half which would grace games alot higher from Steins and Prosser, plus a smart 1v1 save from Marcus, I cant recall Joe having to make any save of real note apart from simple fields, Bridports frustration was obvious in the closing stages and fans streamed for the exits, and the centre half come centre forward gave Joe a right kick in the face, by again a Martyr came out on top when he took one for the team and managed to still hold on to possesion..

I still think there is more to come from us, by we were at it Saturday and beat Bridport all over the pitch..

I would like to point out though it was a Fantastic gesture by Bridport FC for the minute of silence for Dail Miles.... Great touch

Another report here from the Dorset Echo:-

http://www.dorsetecho.co.uk/sport/8808289.Merthyr_misery_for_Bees/

'Apart from a spell in the second half where they put us under pressure, in the rest of the game we were pretty much on top.' (Trevor Senior)

A spell lasting 45 minutes perhaps?

My gob has been smacked well & truly with that report.

Obviously Senior has to put a positive slant on his sides performance but surely even he should acknowledge that his team was outplayed on the day. They created 1 chance of note in the 1st half when they should have done better with a near post header and similarly in the 2nd half they had a chance with a free header which the Bridport player made a pretty dismal attempt at it and it ballooned up in the air. He is deluding himself and the Bridport fans many of whom left well before the end. Those that remained were fulsome in their praise of our performance and it seems that one eyed Senior was the only one in the ground that didn't see it that way. He is obviously not classy enough to congratulate a team that outplayed his team from the start.

How he can say "The result doesn’t tell the full story. Apart from a spell in the second
half where they put us under pressure, in the rest of the game we were
pretty much on top" when we scored 3 in the 1st half and were not threatened and then their goalie kept them in the game in the 2nd half with a string of excellent saves. Without him we'd have scored 7 and that wouldn't have been a flattering scoreline for us. Never mind - those of us who were there know what happened.

Yes, it was a marvellous gesture to have a minutes silence for Dai Miles and the Bridport fans were excellent throughout and made us feel very welcome. Hopefully we can extend the same hospitality to them in April.

Think Mr Senior has had a senior moment there.
