POWELL SCORES 4
Lewis Powell scored all four goals last night, in Cinderford’s home league 4-3 victory over Westfields. What a striker!

Powell scores 4
I wonder what the technical term for scoring four goals is?
If two goals is a brace
Three goals is a hat trick.
Then scoring four goals should be called a Quad Rotation?
After all it worked at Basingstoke on Tuesday Night.
In the interim ever thought of being a football agent Martyr Mark?
I reckon you would be good at it.

Re: POWELL SCORES 4
I just enjoy seeing ex, present and probable future Merthyr players etc. doing well in the game. (Unless they play against us.) Staying with the theme of commending, please Boz, keep your talent on show, with your style of reporting on games. Great stuff.

Powell Scores a Quad Rotation
On a serious note ( for a change) it is important that as many of our fans as possible help the scouting process and recommend players from the local pool of talent too.
I personally only have eyes for Merthyr Town but if a player is on fire let’s get them up the Park Mark.
And we may get to see our own Quad Rotations live at PP in future seasons.

I recommended Ian Traylor, having watched him several times at Pontypridd. He was quite good !!!!

Re: POWELL SCORES 4
Going back many years I worked in steelworks in ebbw vale A local football scout named John Morgan recommended a local boy who had represented Bristol rovers then working as an electrician in the works. After speaking to him I brought him over for tea in my home then introduced him to the club
His name was Chris Holvey the rest we all know what a great player he was,
Following him was mickey Dix. Dai Webley all legends of the club
Having contacts in the game is essential to a clubs success

Powell score 4 but Holvey 4 Star
Sadly, I don’t have any scouting stories but as the saying goes you learn something new every day and I always thought Holvey was synonymous with the creation of Michelin 4 star food ( as it gives Valley people a few spare tyres) cob, curry n chips.
And Webley’s with the sale of Ceri ‘Georgie’ Williams pre-match four star unleaded fuel?

Holvey would finish a shift at the steekworks, meet the team coach for an away game, Then on way home he would go back to work. He took a little meat snack for the bus trip.

Holvey City
And in some Cup games there was a second "leg."
