Merthyr v Weston
FT Merthyr 2 Weston-super-Mare 3
Merthyr face their second trip to London in eight days when they go to third from the bottom Hendon on Tuesday. They did well with a 0-0 home draw today with Dorchester Town. One point from last four home league matches for Merthyr!

Always going to be a tough game against a side that’s flying and after a tough week. Good effort to get within touching distance but, we can’t afford to play catch up nearly every home game it seems. For yet another game where Powell is missing, we just haven’t got any cover. We see him and Rees work well together but, when one is missing, we look out of sorts. If we want to kick on we must get some sort of cover or, we’re going to experience more of the same for the remainder. We don’t want to dip in to the much needed cash boost of late but, in my opinion this factor must be a priority.

At the moment we need to sort our defence out as a priority but you are right in the point that up front we do need cover.

Re: Merthyr v Weston-super-Mare
I give the benefit of the doubt to the defence, (although we can’t keep doing this,) as we have two centre backs on the injured list, Ryan-Phillips and Rhodes, who only lasted 26 mins on his first start of the season at Hanwell. Not sure how long they’ll be out. Not having a pop at any player in particular but, Yakubu who Im sure gives his best, is strong and meets the ball well with headers but, he lacks pace and is beaten so easily on the ground, giving the opposition plenty of opportunities to gain an easier route on goal. I know we have games in hand but, we’re putting needless pressure on ourselves.
