Newport County say they are preparing for the new season with the prospect of playing games
behind closed doors. The EFL season starts on Sept 12.
In England there are pilot schemes for the return of crowds with reduced capacity to allow social distancing.
The hope is that crowds will be allowed on a wider scale in England from October. It is a devolved matter so Newport and the other Welsh clubs wait for guidance from the Welsh Government before football can be played in front of supporters.

Mark Drakeford July 17-Reopening sports stadiums to crowds not "sensible"

Despite plans to reopen sport stadiums to the public in England, Mr Drakeford said it would not be "sensible" to do the same in Wales.

He said the Welsh Government has not yet "had discussions yet about bringing large crowds of people back together".

"It wouldn't be sensible to be doing that," he said.

He said Wales instead plans to learn from the UK Government piloting bringing crowds back to stadiums this autumn.

"It's not the stadium itself or the organisation inside the stadium that may be the issue," Mr Drakeford said, adding that it has more to do with how people get to the stadium, how they behave on the way in and how crowds gather around the stadium.

"If they demonstrate that it's safe, then of course we will consider that very carefully in Wales," he said.

As far as coming to the stadium should not be to much.of a problem for us as every time I arrive there is only a trickle of fans arriving
As far as leaving then perhaps the YMCA steps can be utilized to separate the crowd leaving with the right organisation

A number of clubs struggling financially in England are reportedly hopeful of allowing small crowds to attend their games as early as October.

The coronavirus pandemic called an early halt to the campaign - with lower-league teams taking the hardest blow due to the lack of matchday income.

But discussions between safety officers and Covid-19 officials focused on allowing in crowds capped at 25 per cent may hand clubs a much-needed lifeline.

A third of stadium capacity.National League clubs may be allowed to fill a third of stadiums with supporters next season.

For example, Chesterfield would be able to have around 3,300 fans in their 10,000 all-seater stadium.

The National League will now start on October 3.Possibly that will also now be the starting date for the Southern League although they earmarked September 19. The Welsh Government have not announced a date when sports stadiums in Wales can open with fans present. Two weeks ago Mark Drakeford ruled out autumn.
