Thanks Roving,
It is great to be able to listen to the conspiracy theorists on the briny airwaves of Poole.
More classic bias than a Crown Green Bowler.

Level pegging
Poole score from a cross.
Shades of Ronaldinho.

It’s a draw
Time wasting , only one side likely to win it....but Merthyr still get a draw.
Sounds like Jarrad Wright had Man of the Match.
Decent away point.

Re: Poole Away on Radio
We played well tonight and deserved more. Poole did have more of the ball but created little and we had the better chances.
Our goal was as a result of good passing outside their area released Trayls to make a clinical finish.
Their 2nd half goal was a direct result of the failure of the officials to spot a foul on Yakubu just inside the Merthyr hall and the ball was passed to their right and a cross come shot went in high at our far post.
After that all Poole could do was lob the ball into our area hoping for a break but our defence with Jarrad Wright having an excellent game, held firm.
A great point but we created the better chances.

Poole failed to produce the same standard of football as Saturday and had to settle for a draw with rivals Merthy Town.
Ian Traylor, who caused Poole the most problems throughout the game, was set through after only 2 minutes but Cairney made a comfortable save. On 9 minutes Carmichael put a great cross in the box but Brooks managed to head the ball away from goal. Luke Holmes showed some great skill to beat his defender and cross to Brooks but his shot was well blocked. On 25 minutes a deflected shot fell nicely for Baker but his shot went staight at Harris. A minute later and Jones cleverly beat his defender but Cairney saved well. Against the run of play Merthyr took the lead on 42 minutes - a defensive mix up allowed Traynor in on goal and he struck the ball confidently passed Cairney. A frustrating half for Poole - they controlled the game without creating many clear cut chances.
Soon in to the second half and Killick reverted to previous formation of Spetch up front. Poole's equaliser certainly had an element of luck. Dickson proceeded up the right wing and was clearly trying to cross the ball - but it went over the keeper straight in to the net at the back post. Merthyr came more in to the game - with Maybury's great tackle denying Traynor when through on goal. On 65 minutes Traynor again had a great chance on the left but his shot brought an excellent save from the legs of Cairney. From a Poole corner Brooks header brought a good save from Harris. The game became very end to end with limited passing - more long balls launched goal bound. Merthyr defended well against a resurgent Poole to hold on for a draw.
Poole will feel it was 2 points dropped - they failed to take advantage of their early dominance. They certainly seemed to miss their captain in defence. It was a frustrating game with the referee failing to let it flow. Merthyr seemed happy to take a point with their keeper slowing the game down at every opportunity. But ultimately Poole needed to create more.
