Welsh League champions visit PP
This Saturday (23 July) sees Cardiff Met as the visitors for the latest friendly at Penydarren Park. kick off off 2pm.
Cardiff Met are current Welsh league Division One champions so should provided a strong test for the Martyrs following the good run out against the Yeovil first team last Monday.
The club has an interesting history, resulting from a series of mergers and name changes. Firstly, Lake United renamed themselves A.F.C. Cardiff in 1984. In 1990, they were taken over by Sully F.C to form Inter Cardiff FC and then joined the Konica League of Wales. In 1996, the club was renamed Inter CableTel A.F.C. (after their sponsors), but reverted to Inter Cardiff FC in 1999.
Meanwhile, the team of Cardiff College of Education (later University of Wales Institute, Cardiff) was developing . The team went through a series of name changes, mirroring the name changes of the institution it represented. The team was originally known as Cardiff College of Education F.C.. They became South Glamorgan Institute F.C. in 1979; Cardiff Institute of Higher Education F.C. in 1990 and UWIC in 1996.
In 2000, Inter Cardiff merged with Cardiff Metropolitan University (UWIC) to form UWIC Inter Cardiff F.C. They changed their name again in the summer of 2012 to Cardiff Metropolitan University F.C.

Any particular reason it's a 2.00 pm K.O?
What time is the K.O at Hereford on Sat 30th July?

2 pm kick off is good, why not have all games in the league at 2 pm there would be no need for lights in the winter months makes far more sense.
