We May See Soon...Away Fans?
Regrettably, it doesn't seem likely that promotion will boost our attendances by bringing us large numbers of away fans.
Kettering are a possible exception, as their average attendance for this season is currently 640 - higher than ours at 587. In fact, the only team in the Premier Division with an average attendance higher than ours - though marginally lower than Kettering's - is Weymouth (638). Of the other Premier Division sides, only Corby, Dorchester and Truro have average gates exceeding 400.
There is also the distance factor, as only Paulton, Frome, Chippenham and Cirencester seem close enough for their fans to be enticed to come to us in any numbers, though none of them can claim to be well supported. So we can't look to away fans for higher gates to offset the (presumably) increased costs of travelling further afield. It seems far more likely that we shall continue to do what we have done since our club's resurrection - boost the home gates of our opponents through our significant numbers of loyal travelling fans.

It looks as though Corby may not be there if they win on Saturday and go up. But if they don't win, Poole Town have decent travelling numbers, even if they weren't decent in manner last time out.
We'll presumably get Leamington (which would be interesting), and either Brackley Town or Farnborough as the incoming relegatees.

A lot of Poole Town fans hate us. Could be an interesting fixture if they don't go up.

I agree there in the Southern Premier I don't expect much in the increase of away fans but certainly the Kettering fixture should see some away support as a one off cup fixture. Main thing of course our own home support is very healthy at the moment.

There's been a good rise in home attendances this season. It's been a while since we had a gate under 500. Small but very positive steps!

The potential for growth is massive when you consider the size of the town and population of the surrounding areas. I am forever campaigning to my disillusioned city mates to get on board as I know many others are.
