Moves us back to 17 points clear at the top as Bridport lost 1-2 at home to Gillingham. Oldland made no mistake, winning 3-0 at Hengrove to go back to 2nd.
Bridport HAVE to beat us now next Saturday to stand a chance, but Oldland would probably still only need 2 points from their last 2 games to go up on goal difference.

Yeah, brilliant day out, although I spent the second half in the bar! I heard the 50/50 winner was 374 (not confirmed) it was a Merthyr fan anyway.

Re: Portishead Town v MERTHYR
A good result on a poor hard, bobbly playing surface which looked very picturesque from a distance due to the buttercups and daisies growing on it. Steino flattened a few of them when he was brought down in the box when he was almost past the centre half. Marcus tucked it away nicely. It was a deserved lead as we could have been 4 up by then at least - 2 teriffic saves from the keeper and a few misses.
Joe Leahy was on hand to slot one home after some good interplay in the area and Scotty lobbed one over the keeper after being put through. We suffered an Arsenal moment when defending (or in this case not defending) a corner and to be fair, Portishead should have scored a couple more. However Leahy finished well, being in the right place at the right time to tap it in after a superb run and cross by Ryan Prosser.
Leahy was my man of the match today not just for his 2 goals but also for his link up play with Steins and Prosser when Steins was subbed.
I think Willo did injure his back on the coach today and we had the rare sight of him with an icepack under his shirt before the game and then Badger with a similar pack rammed down his pants in the 2nd half as he seemed to have suffered a groin injury. Good job it happened that way around!
