Saturday preview – Merthyr Town v Wimborne Town

Wimborne Town face arguably their toughest game of the campaign on Saturday when they travel to South Wales to face high-fliers Merthyr Town.

Merthyr have already visited Cuthbury twice this term leaving the Magpies a well beaten side in both the FA Trophy and League. But Wimborne go into the game boosted by a 3-1 victory at Bishops Cleeve in midweek, a game which saw them end their recent goal drought.

“Merthyr will be tough opposition,” admitted Magpies boss Steve Cuss. “They’ve already beaten us twice at home but we have moved on since then and proved ourselves to be a stronger side. “The victory at Bishops Cleeve boosted our confidence and we are looking forward to our game at Merthyr.”

Nathan Peprah-Annan and Jon Blake look set for a return, but Kevin Gill is unavailable.

Wimborne Town (from): Ackerman, Arnold, Maybury, Costello, Blake, Brian, Smith, Sainsbury, Hubbard, Davidson, Kemble, Webb, Peprah-Annan, Cole, Roast, Harvell

It's not much to boast about, beating Bishops Cleeve, to be honest
