Promoted to the Premiership. Two S Wales sides - who would have thought! 0-0 v Charlton; Hull and Watford both lost.

Now I suppose there will be a big game in South Wales every weekend-either at Swansea or Cardiff.

Yes, but maybe not on a Saturday. Both sides now have more chance of playing on a Friday, Sunday or Monday. Providing we can keep the fiver for CCFC & SCFC season ticket holders we may pick up a few who prefer to watch their football at 3pm on a Saturday.

Yes and no Tuesday night games in the Premier League either, so Cardiff fans in the area can get their fix at Penydarren Park on a Tuesday evening.

Yes, I think more Sunday games are likely for Swansea and Cardiff which could help Merthyr, I suppose. I am old-fashioned enough to feel that Saturday afternoon is for football but as money doesn't just talk, it swears, football is ruled by television, especially Sky, and footballers are expected to take to the field when TV dictates.
I hope that non-League football preserves life as portrayed in The Kinks' Autumn Almanac---"I like my football on a Saturday, roast beef on Sunday is all-right...."

Swansea especially will have quite a few Sunday games due to being in the Europa League. The further they go in the competition the more they will get.

How about "The Taxman's taken all my dough" from Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon. Always one of my favourite Kinks songs!

Yes no going back for me either. I have been made very welcome at Merthyr and met some fantastic people. Looking forward to Saturdays game and indeed next season whichever league we find ourselves on.
