PooleTown on twitter
Apparently #prayforhowsey is going around on twitter. Did I miss something? Is the man dying as well as sustaining that injury? I'm not saying it's a bad injury but they seem to be kicking the arse out of it. What's done is done. Harping on about it isn't going to change anything. So on that note I will not mention it again, only to wish Glenn a speedy and full recovery.

Re: PooleTown on twitter
The messages on Twitter and Facebook were way over the top. Cannot believe they administered morphine for ligament damage - if they even did of course, I'd say it's more likely that they were trying to put the boot in.
As some of the Facebook messages say, hopefully they will show some footage of the elbow's being applied to some of the MTFC players faces as well in due course.

Kicking the arse out of it? Glen is a well thought of and respected person off the pitch as well as on it, and if what we have done by showing how much we think of Glen and what we think of "that" challenge by putting it out there on twitter then so be it. On the "Elbow" incident, it's strange that the only people that go on about it are you guys, seems like your trying to find some justification for what followed. From Tiverton, Swindon S, Winchester, Sholing, Gosport and AFCB Bournemouth and others, people have shown their support for Glen. I've kept relatively quiet on this subject and kept my thoughts and feelings to myself, to say the least, I am disappointed in the response to some of the Merthyr contingent, many of us at Poole really looked forward to that day, if we do meet again I'm not sure i will want to return

Here's a notion,as you are governed by the Welsh FA,
Then F##k off back to the Welsh league where you belong.

I don't know a single Merthyr fan who isn't sincerely sorry about what happened to Glen Howes. I'm sure Nathan Davies deeply regrets the way the tackle turned out and I strongly suspect that Glen Howes, if he is the sort of man Blandford Dolphin's above posting suggests, is embarrassed by the turn events are now taking. It's time for all concerned to show some maturity and not descend to mindless insults which can only sour what could still be a good relatonship between two clubs who have both survived difficult times.

Everything is over done with now! Bad tackle, suspension , best wishes from our fans! Everything is done! Yet you feel the need to come on here and post petty, childish statements!

Are Poole fans going to take action against this foul language as it upsets them so much when Merthyr kids do it?

Re- Poole Town on Twiter
With reference to Dud/Cheks vile remarks on Merthyr returning to the Welsh league; a bit of history for him! Merthyr Football club joined the Southern League in 1909; Poole didnt join until 1926, so we are have even more history in the Southern League than them; in between the First and Second World Wars, 1920 to 1930 we played in the Third Division of the Football League, then returned to the Southern league. Shortly after the second World war Merthyr returned to playing in the Southern league, and apart from short spells playing in the Conference, and the Western league, we have been primarily a Southern league team.

Re: PooleTown on twitter
I haven't really commented on any of this until now. While an incident on the pitch marred a great day somewhat I want to say that I loved meeting Poole supporters (my wife and I had a drink with a few before and after the game). In fact I think it would be great to catch up with said supporters at a later date.
It was an important game and passions were, naturally, high. Poole supporters were in great voice: true football fans. Maybe some banter may have come across wrongly, but my experience of the day was of a lot of really good natured football banter and meeting some great visitors. Indeed, such was my impression of the day that, even though I was not able to make it to Poole this season as money has been a little tight of late, I really would love to next season. Albeit a division higher. Or, if I find myself in the area, pop in and catch a game. This is not that fanciful given that all my in-laws are on the South coast. After all, my wife and I worked in Poole in a pie factory while temping before moving to Wales.
I know there have been a few niggles regarding things off the pitch but a few naughty kids and stuff like that should hopefully not put the RWA off returning next season. I certainly look forward to a visit to Poole and maybe catching up with the handful of Poole fans I got the chance to meet on the day. Brilliant people, passionate about their football, and their club. Please, do come again, I mean it! Come!
Though next season the passions will still be high as both clubs fight it out at the top of the table for a Conference place.

Well said Mr. M
Nice comments and sentiments. As for you having previously worked in a pie factory, I always got the impression you were a bit upper crust!
